As for the rest of life, Covid-19 takes the win for the SSD reunion, dammit. Because of all the gathering rules and lack of cooperation with Boomtown, it had to be cancelled. It's ok. Better everyone is safe, but dang it, we were looking forward to it after having to miss last year. But sometimes the bad brings the good. Our friend Patty who plans the BBQ every year has a connection so it looks like we will be able to move the reunion to Grand Sierra Resort and their RV park for 2021. It's a better place, closer to everything and has the hotel/casino right there. So I think the cancelation was a blessing. It forced us to move and if it is as it appears, it will be even better. So when the world in Reno gets back to normal, we will solidify the plan for next year.
Speaking of Covid-19, thank goodness we live in a free state. Yes, there's rules and some things were shut down for a short time, like hairdressers, nail shops and eating in the restaurant. But now everything is open. Some places require masks, most leave it up to you, the customer, but the staff wears them. I'm pretty sure I would have gone nuts in a stricter state or especially if we were stuck in the RV. Again, things happen for a reason, lol. The best place to spend restricted time is right here. LJ has good wifi so he can play his few games, check Facebook, watch Netflix. Plus we have the Wii, like I mentioned before to keep us competitive. He's okay with staying home because I like to say he's basically lazy 😂😂😂. Not really, but he is old, so there's that. I have Scooter to play with, the pool, the media room, my craft room and my puzzles so I am in heaven.
One of the advantages to living in our place is the view of the jets flying. Yea, it can get a little noisy when they fly right over, but I enjoy the sights and sounds of freedom. Several jets did a planned fly over of the phoenix area as a salute to front line Covid19 workers. It was breathtaking. they flew over all the different communities surrounding Phoenix. The picture doesn't do it justice. But it was awesome. We had a perfect view from our backyard.
Because it's the right thing to do and the semi-shutdown, I'm still cooking EVERY night... e v e r y.. d a m n.. n i g h t. For three months. Those that know me well know what a burden this is. Me cooking and LJ having to eat it, lol. Let's just say I'm really good at a lot of things and cooking isn't one of them. Yep, I own it. I suck at cooking. Don't like it. Don't wanna do it. Don't wanna clean it up. But I have a great kitchen to not like to do it in and I have managed to actually make new stuff that isn't half bad. The crock pot is my friend lol. He stilllllll struggles with some foods and his taste buds are hit and miss, so I still have to cook to his eating ability which is limiting. Some things taste normal, some don't. I guess with me cooking that's a good thing, lol. "Does this taste weird to you?" Why no, dear. It tastes fine. Must be you 😋

A few days ago we drove up to Wickenburg to see the Roloff's. It's about an hour drive, give or take. What a great day! Love their little corner of the world. Such a nice place/area. Love their house. It's in a 55 and up community and Tom can play golf every day. Of course we've known Tom for years (we worked together), but really hadn't had a chance to hang out with Annie. So, yea, now that's gonna happen... A lot. We love them both. She and I are similar in a lot of ways, so that makes it nice. It's rare to like both halves, lol. Can't wait to have them over. Annie cooked for us, so LJ says I have to cook for them, it's only right. I said "we do want to keep them as friends, right? You reallllly want me to cook?" I got the look. Hey, I know my limitations.
Scooter was able to go with us and got along very well with their yorkies, Ami and Bailey. He sits like a good boy at their door waiting for them to open it. He's up, he sits. He's up, he sits. He knows he's suppose to sit if he wants something but he just gets so excited, lol. And those two...They are adorable! He was happy to be among his "people". Definitely will be more get togethers. There's worlds for the four of us (and the pups) to explore.
Still need to get back up to the Wilhoite's in Rimrock. I think now that Arizona is pretty open it will be soon. There's another like them both couple. And Scooter gets along well with Bafu, their pup. LJ has a few more doc appointments then we should be good to go visit, ride atvs, live a little. And their casino should be open soon, so there's that.
Trying to get to Reno and Sacramento for a week at the end of June. Kind of depends on how open things get in Nevada and in California. We want to make the trip when we can visit family and friends, but are going to wait for the restrictions to ease. It will be more enjoyable that way. My mom is getting up there so I need to see her. Plus it's been awhile since we've seen Jeff, Amy and the grandkids. Of course we will see our Besties, the Kropp's, and probably beg them to let us stay there a few nights. We'll see our granddaughter KT and Patty and Alan, Jane and Dave and anyone else we can find while in Reno.

On a lighter note, Scooter is loving this AZ lifestyle. I mentioned it last time, but now it's every morning that we go swimming for about 90 minutes. By swimming I mean I'm in the pool. He's dropping his ball in the water for me to get and throw. He gets in the pool, on the step, to retrieve it when I throw it there. Keeps him cooled off. He could care less about actually swimming, lol. We do it again in the late afternoon. If I ignore him he barks, lol. Sometimes when he sees me doing my pool weights he patiently waits. But let me take a breath and he's right there, plopping the ball in the water. I know it wears him out because he sleeps soundly the entire night through. He loves it though. He gets so excited when I get out there and pick up the blue net. He'll take the periodic break to hunt for lizards. But then he's right back with the ball. And if I can't take him for some reason......he pouts. Like a little kid, lol.

Nope...he's not spoiled...not one bit.
It's been on the warm side, but it's hard to explain. It truly is a different heat. The pool water is up to 80 which is good for me. Too cold for LJ, lol. The pool exercises are kinda working for me. I feel better. I look better. I'm still fat. (Exercise...exercise...good girl! Oh look! a donut!).
But I can see the changes in my muscle tone. Hopefully the fat will eventually start coming off. Along with the pool weights and walking laps in the pool, I do "back strokes" or my version of them, lol, for a few laps. I can do more now than when I started so that's a positive sign. Look at me all active and stuff. Of course I was brought back to reality when I came in yesterday and Lj says "I was watching you doing back strokes in the pool. Wow...what a target. I looked for the harpoon, but it was no where to be found." sigh.... then he hugs me and we laugh. Can't say he's wrong, lol. That's what we do...tease each other without mercy. Yep, that guy is a keeper.
So, once again, nothing too exciting. But we are happy LJ is on the right track. Every day he is more and more like his old self. I wish he'd put on a couple pounds, but really he is at the perfect weight. He just looks skinny to me, mainly because I'm used to bigger LJ. Like hugging a stick.. but a healthy stick, so I'll take it. Looking forward to our trip to Utah in September/October. I hope we go somewhere before then, but if not, then I'll just enjoy our little spot here and spending time with my cancer free love of my life.
Hope to see you all soon. Stay safe!
